I know someone who’s near the completion of a bachelor’s in studio arts, but doesn’t know what kind of jobs are actually available for this degree (they’ve done some searching, but can’t find anything). Any ideas you provide will be much appreciated; please provide a bit of detail.
Thanks.

I am currently in an studio Art major. Currently in my school Studio Art is roughly a general studies but in the art field. If you review your classes you can see that they cover small areas of art and general studies. If you have to build a portfolio by the end of a senior year it means that you collect everything you’ve done from your classes to inaugurate a bigger career in art.
A studio art major (like a general studies mayor like I explained above) is good for other careers in FINE ARTS, and most popular today GRAPHIC DESIGN, COMPUTER GRAPHICS. I highlight these mostly because for example in fine arts you can break it down in many professions.
FINE ARTS: ceramics, teaching, sculpture, photography, traditional art: print making, jewelry making ..etc
GRAPHIC DESIGN: Web design, Advertisement, Lettering…
COMPUTER GRAPHICS: Digital Coloring, Illustration, film…
This is just from the top of your head, but the qualifications of a Studio art major variates from every college, all college and Universities have different requirements.
Good Luck!
